In keeping with Seattle Hadassah’s “Thrive series: Be the CEO of Your Life”, we are fortunate to have the opportunity to honor Ruth Fast, who epitomizes what it means to thrive and stay vibrant as she looks forward to turning 99 on August 20. Rescued from the Nazis by Hadassah-sponsored Youth Aliyah in then Palestine, Ruth has come to hold every position in Seattle Chapter Hadassah.
Plans are underway for a birthday celebration, in which Ruth shares the highlights of her story and wisdom for a long, happy, and productive life, in conversation with Pamela Lavitt, on a lazy, hazy day of summer.
Hark back to the style a while ago
And please wear a chapeau,
When we sing Happy Birthday
For 99 years unsurpassed,
All hats off to Ruth Fast!
Please join is for High/Chai Tea
Pssst! We are thrilled to announce that Ruth’s birthday cake will be baked and donated by Beloria Levy, a Child Life Hadassah member, who has started her own Batter Splatter Bakery. She is the daughter of Hadassah Life Member, Miriam Levy, and Dr. Elie Levy. Be sure to read Beloria’s enterprising story, to which we can add she cares about the mitzvah of honoring one’s elders.
The great Rebbe Nachman of Breslov wrote that one can “Gauge a country’s prosperity by its treatment of its elders.”
This event will take place in North Seattle
